This is the first mouthpiece I would recommend anyone to play. It is stable and easy to control. One of the best student mouthpieces out there but some even take it with them twenty years down the road. A worthwhile investment. However, I would suggest that the serious player try other mouthpieces, especially the Larry Teal or the S90. I play a Teal which is very similar, though it projects more and and has a better tone in the extremes of the horn. Even so, I still keep one of these in my case
