Has anyone had any experience with the Epiphone SG Prophecy GX guitar.?
I am trying to decide what guitar to buy. I am a 46 year old retired musician. I am getting back into it to a degree and I need a guitar. My budget is $700.00 or less. I play old twangy country, modern country, southern rock, 50′s rock, 70′s rock and I like to just mess around with metal.I had a Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster but, I sold it and Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster Electric Guitar. Honey Blonde Rosewood Fretboard hate myself for it. The new ones are $1,400.00 so that is out of the question. I had an Epiphone Les Paul Studio which I also like a lot but, I sold IT too. I am looking at the SG GX Prophecy because of the dual Humbuckers and the coil tapping ability. I figure I can get the deep Gibson growl and the Fender twang by utilizing the coil tap and making the two HB’s into a single coil at the flip of a switch.I am also considering th Fender Stratocaster Highway 1 HSS. It it the lowest priced American made Strat. It has two sigle coil pups and one dual Humbucker all controlled with the fender 5-way slider switch.I would appreciate any opinions or suggestions based upon my playing style. Is anyone familiar with either one of these?ThanksI know. I am money limited and I do business with Sweetwater Sounds and they allow 3 payment plan.
